Annual awards for young researchers in the field
of statistical physics and condensed matter theory
Institute for Condensed Matter Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of
Ukraine announces a new competition for young researchers working in the field
of statistical physics and condensed matter theory. The best works selected by the
Competition Committee will be commended by the Special Awards. The competi-
tion was established by the Directorate and the Council of Young Scientists of the
Institute for Condensed Matter Physics in 2001 and it is dedicated to the anniversary
of the Institute foundation. In 2004 the Institute will celebrate the 35th anniversary
of its first department, the department of statistical theory of condensed systems,
which was founded in May, 1969.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
• be in the age group up to 35 years at the time of application;
• working or studying at the research institutions or universities in Ukraine.
The awards will be presented during the special Workshop devoted to the prob-
lems of statistical physics and condensed matter theory (Lviv, 27–28 May, 2004).
