Digital Library of Periodicals of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine| Summary: | The materials of archaeological research of ancient burial complexes from Nymphei chora are represented in this article. Sub-barrow stone and ditch burrial constructions excavated near the settlement on the shore give rather a wide range of rites. In a burial rite Hellenistic, as well as barbaric characteristics, are traced, that testifies for mixed composition of the chora population. Some of them could compose a special social and, perhaps, ethnic group of dependent population of Nymphei chora in the 4th century B.C. A part of researched burials has direct analogies among burial monuments o( Nymphei chora, others (burials of babies in amphoras, an àdobed tombs, cremation) hail not been known before. |
