M. Pavlun — doctor of geological sciences, professor, dean of the geological faculty of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Ukraine, full member of the Ukrainian Mineralogical Society, full member of the Shevchenko Scientific Society.
M. Pavlun’s systematic scientific research on metallogeny and thermobarogeochemistry (TBGC) of molybdenum-tungsten and gold ore formations served as the basis for the preparation and successful defense of a candidate’s and doctoral dissertation. For the first time, the scientist substantiated a new field of modern ore-formation and metallogenic analysis — TBGC modeling, diagnostics and forecasting of endogenous ore formations. M. Pavlun, as an administrator, performs great organizational, educational-methodical and patriotic-educational work aimed at highlighting and multiplying the achievements of the geological faculty and forming highly qualified specialists. The scientific work of M. Pavluny consists of more than 400 works, including three collective monographs and hundreds of articles, a number of reports of state-budget scientific research and contractual works, three reference and information publications for the anniversaries of the geological faculty, four textbooks, two study guides. For many years of conscientious work and significant achievements in scientific and pedagogical activity, Mykola Pavlun was awar ded with awards, distinctions and thanks, among which: a memorial sign named after A.I. Lutugin, medal of V.I. Luchytskyi, jubilee Certificate of Honor of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the title “Honored Education Worker of Ukraine”, Thanks from the Lviv Regional Council, Thanks from the Rector of the University.

Микола Миколайович Павлунь — доктор геологічних наук, професор, декан геологічного факультету Львівського національного університету імені Івана Франка, академік АН Вищої школи України, дійсний член Українського мінералогічного товариства та Наукового товариства імені Шевченка. Систематичні наукові дослідження М.М. Павлуня з металогенії і термобарогеохімії (ТБГХ) молібден-вольфрамових і золоторудних формацій слугували підґрунтям для підготовки та успішного захисту кандидатської і докторської дисертацій. Науковцем вперше обґрунтовано нову галузь сучасного рудно-формаційного і металогенічного аналізу — ТБГХ моделювання, діагностики і прогнозування ендогенних рудних формацій. М.М. Павлунь як адміністратор виконує велику організаційну, навчально-методичну і патріотично-виховну роботу, орієнтовану на висвітлення і примноження здобутків геологічного факультету та формування висококваліфікованих спеціалістів. Науковий доробок вченого складає понад 400 праць, серед яких три колективні монографії та сотні статей, низка звітів держбюджетних науково-дослідних і договірних робіт, три довідково-інформаційні видання до ювілеїв геологічного факультету, чотири підручника, два навчальних посібники з грифом МОН. За багаторічну сумлінну працю та вагомі здобутки у науково-педагогічній діяльності Миколу Миколайовича Павлуня відзначено нагородами, відзнаками та подяками, серед яких Пам’ятний знак імені А.І. Лутугіна, медаль В.І. Лучицького, ювілейна Почесна грамота Президії НАН України, звання «Заслужений працівник освіти Ук раїни», Подяка Львівської обласної ради, подяки від ректора Львівського національного університету імені Іва на Франка.
