Наведено відомості стосовно видового складу колекції роду Paphiopedilum в Національному ботанічному саду ім. М.М. Гришка НАН України. На прикладі Paphiopedilum insigne (Wall. ex Lindl.) Pfitz. проілюстровано основні напрямки досліджень представників роду в умовах оранжерейної культури і в культурі in vitro. Отримані результати розглянуто з позицій збереження біорізноманіття. Зроблено загальний огляд останніх публікацій, присвячених вивченню роду Paphiopedilum. M.M.
