Description
Summary:Myelodepression is one of the major pathological syndromes resulting from cytotoxicant action on humans and animals. Effect of cryopreserved cord blood cell preparation (CB) on recovery dynamics of bone marrow hematopoiesis in CBA mice was studied with the model of cytostatic myelodepression caused by the use of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) in maximum tolerated dose (228 mg/kg). It was shown that 5-FU introduction caused an expressed myelodepression and slowered reparation of hemopoietic tissue and its individual lineages. The most sensitive to 5-FU effect were cells of myeloid and erythroid lineages, and less sensitive appeared to be the lymphoid cells. Intravenous administration of CB preparation contributed to bone-marrow hematopoietic regeneration to the 12th day and complete reduction of toxic leukopenia to the 9th day of the experiment.
